14-year-old boy Phillip Pierson has been missing in Egmont National Park in Taranaki.
Phillip was out in the Taranaki Pursuit Navigation when he went missing. With wet and cold conditions overnight, it is hoped that Phillip has been able to keep warm with the equipment he has with him.
It was said that Phillip Pierson was found around 11am on Wednesday by Department of Conservation / D.O.C, a worker named Emma Neal who is a trainee was checking a stoat line when she came across the young boy.
Luckily the boy was carrying the group's safety bag that held food water and an emergency shelter which allowed him to create a bivouac.
After being reunited with his family Peirson thanked the search and rescue teams for their attempts to find him.
